Wheel Wash System Videos

AccuWeigh has extensive industry experience with the installation and maintenance of automatic truck wheel washing systems. This page showcases a few of AccuWeigh's installed wheel wash systems with notes as to their application.

truck wheel washing system For QLD's LNG Project

A truck wheel washing system is being used to clean the underbodies, wheels and tyres of vehicles working on the Curtis Island Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) Project in central Queensland. Supplied by AccuWeigh's branch in Brisbane, the truck wheel washing system was required to prevent weed and seed contamination from vehicles working on the 540 kilometre underground gas pipeline project from Roma to Gladstone.

As this install is in a remote location away from mains power or a permanent water supply, AccuWeigh also provided a 75kVA powered generator and a 8,000 litre water holding tank along with all required connections and pipes. To enable earthmoving vehicles to have organic material removed from their undercarriage, a diesel powered, portable high pressure clearer was also supplied.

truck wheel wash system For Mirvac's Harold Park in Glebe, Sydney

An AccuWash truck wheel wash was recently commissioned at Mirvac's $1 billion development of the Harold Park Paceway at Glebe in Sydney's inner west. The AccuWash was required to eliminate track-out onto public roads by cleaning the wheels, tyres and the underbodies of trucks and trailers before they exited onto public roads.

Each Australian state has its own Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) which has strict requirements to prevent soil, mud and other organic materials from being tracked out onto public roads and causing potential hazards for other road users.

Truck wheel wash For Concrete Recycling Facility in Victoria

An automatic wheel wash system was recently installed for washing truck wheels, tyres and vehicle underbodies at a concrete recycling facility located in Brooklyn, Victoria.

The high efficiency wheel wash was installed and commissioned by AccuWeigh's Melbourne branch and the scope of supply also included all required civil works. AccuWeigh's AccuWash wheel wash system is fitted with a specialised water filter to ensure clean water is used in all wheel and tyre washing cycles. Using dirty water in a wheel wash not only clogs the water spray heads and lowers cleaning efficiency, but suspended particles in the water under high pump pressure can also cause pitting of truck paintwork and damage to underbody components.

Truck wheel wash For Perilya Broken Hill's Port Pirie Wharf in SA

A truck wheel wash has been supplied to remove fugitive dust from truck wheels and tyres after unloading at a busy port facility in South Australia. Supplied by AccuWeigh's Adelaide branch, the truck wheel washer will also prevent tracking out when the trucks exit the wharf facilities and drive onto public roads.

To eliminate the need to regularly change dirty water, AccuWeigh's truck wheel washer is also fitted with a Hydrocyclone solids separator which removes small grit and solids from the recycled wash water. The Hydrocyclone is an environmentally friendly option as the improved water quality greatly reduces the need for water stored in the wheel wash system to be dumped and replaced with fresh water.

Automatic Scraper Conveyor Removes Sludge From Water Holding Tank

AccuWeigh's Port Adelaide branch sold the fully automatic, DTW-241 truck wheel washer which is fitted with an automatic scraper to remove solids from the reclaim tank after every wheel wash cycle. A self-contained steel pit is was also supplied to enable the wheel wash system to be easily relocated with minimal associated costs.

AccuWash truck wheel washer Meets EPA Requirements

AccuWeigh offers full turnkey installations, including all civils such as excavations and concreting, sludge removal bins, traffic lights, boom gates, shaker grids, solids separators, safety railings and walkways. With full sales and service support available from eight branches across mainland Australia, AccuWeigh's AccuWash truck wheel wash system is the ideal investment to ensure your company's compliance with ever-toughening EPA requirements.

AccuWash Fitted with Optional Hydrocyclone Centrifugal Separator

AccuWeigh's Hydrocyclone is a centrifugal separator that removes sand, soil, grit and other solid matter from the recycled water stored in the truck wheel wash holding tanks. The efficiency remains constant without any head loss build up and no clogging by the solids that are being separated from the dirty wash water.

Fresh clean water offers the best cleaning action for wheel wash systems, but this is not an environmentally friendly option. The use of a quality water filter to continually clean the recycled water to a high standard is the preferred green option. Dirty water not only clogs the wheel wash spray heads causing a lowering of cleaning efficiency, but can also cause pitting to truck paintwork and damage to underbody components by particles suspended in the water under high pump pressures.

The Hydrocyclone uses no moving parts or screens and is powered directly by the wheel wash spray pump. Clean water discharges at normal system pressure through the wheel wash sprays while separated solids are collected and discharged separately at the point of wheel wash sludge conveyor discharge.

Truck wheel wash Using Recycled Dam Water At TPI's Land-Fill Site in QLD

The automatic wheel wash supplied to TPI recycles dam water due to the unavailability of mains pressure town water. AccuWeigh's environmentally friendly automatic wheel wash is fitted with a solids separator to remove all sand, soil and other solids from the dam water before it is pumped to the wheel wash spray nozzles.

Supplied and commissioned by AccuWeigh's Brisbane branch, the AccuWash truck wheel wash is fully automatic with operation initiated by trucks tripping the wheel wash entry sensors. The wheel wash complies with EPA requirements by removing mud, dirt and debris from truck wheels, tyres and truck underbodies, preventing track out onto public roads.
