Hanson’s weighbridge was originally fitted with HBM C3H2 weighbridge load cells and although these 1980’s generation load cells are still available they are much more expensive than modern counterparts. As two of the HBM load cells had failed due to corrosion, the decision was made to replace all six weighbridge load cells using stainless steel Flintec RC3 weighbridge load cells.
The Flintec RC3 weighbridge load cells are also hermetically sealed with an IP68 rating and are available at very competitive market prices. Suitable adaptor plates were available from the distributor, Ultrahawke, and the entire load cell retro-fit was completed in one working day.
