This simplified process saves double handling at Acryloc’s Dry Creek plant by eliminating the need for the loaded pallet to be removed from the stretch wrapper and taken to a platform scale for weighing.
Matt Bell from Accuweigh’s Port Adelaide branch organised for suitable drawings for Acyloc’s maintenance department to fabricate the necessary mounting brackets to fit the load cells to the stretch wrapper without significantly increasing the height of the stretch wrapper itself.
To minimize the potential of load cell damage by accidental impact from fork lifts on the stretch wrapper, large swivel feet with rubber mounts were also fitted to the load cells. A Rinstrum R310 digital weight indicator was fitted to the column of the stretch wrapper for displaying the weight readings.
Accuweigh service staff was then called in and terminated the load cell wires and test and calibrate the stretch wrapper’s indicator.
