To minimise project costs, each pair of the original eight support legs was modified to share a common loadcell. In total, sixteen low profile PT 10t loadcells were used in the four silo weighing systems for a working capacity of 30t per silo.
The install also included restraining bolts being fitted to the loadcell beams to prevent external forces such as wind from lifting the silos off the loadcells. Accuweigh’s Adelaide branch fitted each silo with a Rinstrum R5000 digital weight indicator with high/low level alarms.
