Platform Scales
Accuweigh’s A500 platform scales were customised by the fitting of a turntable to allow drums to be manually rotated during filling.
A pallet containing four empty drums is placed on the platform scale’s turntable which is rotated after each drum is filled to position the next drum under the static filling nozzle.
Accuweigh’s Newcastle branch supplied the hot dip galvanised platform scales with the pallet turntable to Orica’s Botany plant. An Avery 1010 digital weight indicator with a stainless steel housing was connected to the platform scales for displaying the weight readings in this hostile chemical environment.
The turntable fitted to the pallet scales is ideal for applications requiring the pallets to be manually handled and is ideal for situations where access may be difficult and the use of lift tables is limited. The turntable on a stand provides both product rotation and elevation, which alleviates the manual effort and stress associated with handling heavy products.
