Metal Detectors Inspecting Bread in WA.

Metal Detector

Mias Bakery in Canning Vale recently commissioned Accuweigh's Perth branch to provide a solution for their inspection needs on their loaf bagging lines to ensure their customers were receiving food products inspected to the highest possible standards.

Accuweigh's WA State Manager, Bill Ambrose, reviewed all the latest offerings in metal detectors before settling on the European manufacturer Prisma, specifically their latest variable frequency scanning units. These variable frequency metal detectors are able to operate at different scanning frequencies to enable much better detection rates when scanning different density products for contaminates.

The two variable frequency detection heads were married to the existing loaf bagging lines by stainless steel conveyors with modular belts, reject pushers and lockable reject bins supplied by Acutec Engineering in Adelaide.

The bread loaves being inspected are up to 450mm Wide x 200mm Long x 200mm High. The scanning rate is up to 60 units per minute with the following detection sensitivities:

  • 3.5mm stainless steel
  • 3.0mm non-ferrous
  • 2.5mm ferrous.

Accuweigh has a huge advantage over our competitors in that we have branches across Australia and can offer local backup and support in all states. Combining this fact with a quality European product that has solid reliability and this is what makes Accuweigh stand out from our competitors.
