Medical Trolley Scales
An Accuweigh client needed the ability to very accurately monitor stock levels of the various types of blood syrum they manufacture for medical uses with minimal handling by the operator. The syrum is stored in bladders which are placed on trays of the trolley which is then keep in a cold room for extended periods.
Accuweigh’s Bob Neumann from the Adelaide branch was instrumental in the design and prototyping of converting a standard medical trolley into a complete mobile weighing station able to withstand extended periods in the coldroom but able to instantly display the combined net weigh of blood syrum in a matter of seconds without any handling of the bladders themselves.
The trolley was outfitted with loadcells and a battery powered digital indicator to create a mobile trolley scale which ideally suited the client’s application and fulfills all their stock control needs by having each different type of blood syrum stored on clearly identified trolleys.
To check the weight of all bladders stored on a trolley, the operator simply presses a button on the keypad to bring the indicator out of hibernation to allow the weight to be read almost instaneously.
The digital weight indicators used are Rinstrum R323 units manufactured in full stainless steel and also fitted with internal rechargeable batteries to allow for the extended storage periods in the coldroom.
