Scone Jockey Scales

Accuweigh’s Newcastle branch recently serviced, tested and calibrated a set of jockey scales for the Scone Jockey Club in NSW’s Hunter Valley. The jockey scale was being prepared for the biggest race day on the Hunter Valley calendar- the Scone Cup.

The jockey scale in use is an aging Avery/Salter 1236T of 101kg capacity, which was initially trade approved for this application on the 18th of January 1974. Parts are still available for these mechanical dial jockey scales to keep them in prime weighing condition.
