Industrial Scales
Industrial platform scales were recently installed by Accuweigh’s Melbourne branch for speciality carpets manufacturer, Velieris in Thomastown for weighing loaded trolleys of alpaca fleece.
The industrial scales are used to weigh existing stock of the various grades and colour of wool to ensure minimal requirement is available before initiating a specific carpet product run.
These industrial scales are pit mounted so the scale platform is flush with the floor for easy access of the loaded trolleys that can weigh up to 500kg. Previously the client used standard platform scales fitted with access ramps but these proved to be too awkward for staff to use when manoeuvring the heavily loaded trolleys.
An Avery E1005 digital weight indicator with a bright VFD display is mounted on a nearby wall to enable the operator to clearly see the weight reading of the industrial scales.
Alpaca fleece comes in a range of naturally occurring colours and is soft but extremely strong and durable making it ideal for use as a luxury carpet. Velieris produce quality carpets using Alpaca fleece which is a complicated process of mixing fleece colours and grades to achieve various shades of grey and different textures.
