The new metal detectors will be used to ensure that Penrice Soda’s products comply with their own very strict quality standards that are rigidly enforced for the overall benefit to their valued customers.
The upgrade to the existing Cintex analog metal detector required fitting the the latest digital circuitry to the existing metal detector’s scanning head to increase its sensitivity to very fine contaminants.
Two drop-through metal detectors will be used for inspecting soda ash & sodium bicarbonate as it is being filled into bulka-bags holding between 400kg-1400kg capacity with an expected throughput of 20t per hour. The scanning aperture is 239mm dia. And both drop through metal detectors have test piece insertion facilities to allow fast and easy testing and calibrations of the metal detector heads.
The single in-line metal detector has a scanning aperture of 600mm x 400mm and is fabricated in stainless steel. This new unit and the the existing upgraded metal detector will be used for inspecting bagged products of 15kg to 25kg capacities at rates of 10 bags per minute.
Acutec Engineering in SA fabricated the gravity conveyor and frames for the drop through metal detector units.
