Batching Systems
A Batching System was recently commissioned to accurately regulate the volume of materials being dosed in the manufacture of various insulation products.
The negative weight Batching System was installed at the South Australian Beverley plant of Thermal Ceramics.
Accuweigh’s Port Adelaide branch supplied and commissioned the Batching System for regulating the flow of Liquid Potassium Silica which is used as a bonding agent in the manufacture of insulation blankets. Accuweigh also manufactured a small weigh hopper which holds up to 40 litres of the liquid bonding agent.
As well as ensuring the correct volume of Liquid Potassium Silica is delivered for each batch, the Batching System also ensures the weigh hopper is automatically refilled with the bonding agent whenever the low level alarm is activated.
Accuweigh’s batching system is fully automatic but can also be operated manually or by input from an external PLC. A full weight ticket can be printed from the batching system listing each target weight, the actual batched weights and batching deviations for each product. At the end of each shift, the batching system generates a full materials usage printout for stock control purposes.
Accuweigh has a wide range of standard and custom batching systems available and can also provide PC based batching systems and software to suit all batching applications.
