Accuweigh’s QWM branch recently commissioned an automatic axle weigher to ensure Australian Defence Force vehicles comply with legal axle weight loadings when driven on public roads. The automatic axle weigher was installed at the Enoggera Army Barracks in Brisbane.
Accuweigh’s SupaWeigh 4000 automatic axle weigher is very accurate and can be trade approved for weighing gross vehicle weights. Measuring 4 metres wide by 1 metre long with a weighing capacity of 40,000 kg, this automatic axle weigher is installed in a shallow pit with 20 metres of existing concrete hardstand either side of the axle weighbridge.
This axle weigher is fully automatic in operation and doesn’t require an operator to be in attendance. The driver enters the vehicle details using the integrated alpha-numeric keyboard and then drives the vehicle slowly over the axle weighbridge. The driver returns and removes the printed ticket listing all individual axle weights plus the total vehicle mass. The weight ticket is then kept in the vehicle for the duration of the current trip with a copy held for office records.
