A weighbridge located at Tarong Power Station in South East Queensland was recently serviced, tested and certified for trade use by Accuweigh’s QWM branch in Brisbane.
This weighbridge is used for weighing
out flyash in both bulk and palletised form. Cement Australia has the weighbridge serviced by QWM on a regular basis to ensure correct and legal weights are being attained.
Regular Weighbridge Servicing can also increase life expectancy
of the weighbridge load cells:
1) The rocking motion of weighbridge decks aids the ingress of foreign matter to lodge between the load
cell pendles and the steel cups. These contaminants can quickly damage the accurately
machined profiles of the load cells and cups causing weighing errors. Regular
cleaning and greasing of these critical components significantly reduces the likelihood of pre-mature failure.
2) Regular adjustment of the weighbridge end stops to ensure
correct end-to-end clearances are maintained can also extend load cell life expectancy. Weighbridge decks expand & contract
due to seasonal temperature changes and overly large end clearances permits
excessive load cell tilt which can also damage the profile of the load cell
pendles.
