A weigh bridge was recently sold to Convector Grain for installation at their Laverton North plant in Melbourne.
The on-site weigh bridge increased plant efficiency by removing the need for trucks to be weighed on an external public weigh bridge.
As well as eliminating the fees associated with using an external public weigh bridge, truck turn-around time was also shortened noticeably by negating the need for trucks to leave site to be weighed. Accuweigh’s Melbourne branch supplied a 28 metre weigh bridge fitted with a concrete weigh bridge deck for increased durability when weighing heavy grain trucks.
Due to the favourable land profile, an above ground weigh bridge design was able to be installed at ground level eliminating additional costs for concrete access ramps at each end of the weigh bridge. Weigh bridge software was also supplied to track details of all trucks entering and leaving the plant and to provide comprehensive management reporting.
