Accuweigh’s BudPak branch recently fitted automatic valve bag placers to existing packing machines to eliminate the need for operators to manually fit the bags to the filling nozzles.
The Technipes valve bag placers were interfaced with the existing Erkomat valve bag packing machines at Penford‘s Lane Cove plant for use on their cornstarch products bagging lines.
BudPak supplied Technipes model Transfer/R automatic valve bag placers as they are suitable for internal or external valve bags constructed from paper, polypropylene and polyethylene with a valve flat width between 90mm to 180mm. Bag weight range is 5kg to 50kg.
The automatic valve bag placer is simple, reliable, and compact, requiring very little maintenance and can be installed in any working environment. It comes complete with either a static single station empty bag magazine or motorised multi-station magazine which automatically transfers the empty bag stack to the pick-up location. Each station has capacity for up to 50 empty bags.
The two automatic valve bag placers will be controlled by a single Siemens S7-200 PLC. Bud-Pak also supplied and retrofitted Technipes pneumatic bag clamps on the existing valve bag packers. The pneumatic clamps feature a bag detection system to ensure the empty bag is correctly placed on the filling spout before the filling cycle commences.
Budpak has been in operation since 1974 and has hundreds of bagging, filling, palletising and stretch wrapping installation through-out Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific. BudPak was acquired by Accuweigh in 2004 and now has Sales and Service available from branches in all mainland states.
