UNMANNED WEIGHBRIDGE TERMINAL UPGRADE FOR PENRICE SODA

Unmanned Weighbridge Terminal

An unmanned weighbridge terminal was recently upgraded at Penrice Soda’s Osbourne quarry in South Australia. The weighbridge terminal upgrade was required due to an upgraded weighbridge office which is now fully enclosed and insulated.

Accuweigh’s Port Adelaide branch installed the unmanned weighbridge terminal which included a driver control station with a touch screen display, weighbridge software and two separate printers. A monitor linked to CCTV camera is used to assist drivers in aligning the filling spout to the tanker opening.

The unmanned weighbridge terminal was fitted with two different printers:

1. An A4 sheet printer mounted inside the weighbridge office that prints a copy of each weighing transaction for office/delivery records.

2. A tally roll printer mounted inside the weighbridge office but with access from outside via a rubber flap to enable truck drivers to retain a hard copy of their truck weights.

Accuweigh’s weighbridge terminal is designed for use in very harsh conditions and is based on a ROC – a Rugged Operations Computer which is completely sealed, doesn’t required external cooling and is designed to operate in dusty and wet conditions.  A Dallas key reader is used to automatically identify all trucks to the weighbridge terminal and recall their tare weights to minimise potential data entry errors by the drivers.
