Twin weighbridges were recently commissioned for a prominent supplier of fertilisers in Western Australia.
Installed by Accuweigh’s Perth branch, the twin weighbridges were installed during a major plant upgrade to improve truck loading efficiency.
Both weighbridges are forty metres long to allow B Double trucks to be accurately loaded with the required weight of fertilizer while positioned on the weighbridge decks. One weighbridge is used for loading trucks requiring bulk fertilizer while the second weighbridge is for loading trucks requiring blended fertilizers that are made to order.
The weighbridges were installed inside the fertilizer storage shed to minimise delays caused by excessive truck movements within the plant. The weighbridges are installed in shallow pits with the weighbridge decks at ground level for ease of truck access.
Each weighbridge is fitted with twelve stainless steel weighbridge load cells of 30t capacity each. Access to the weighbridge load cells is provided by side access hatches which also eliminate the need for confined space permits during weighbridge servicing and cleaning.
