TRUCK SCALES COMMISSIONED FOR THIESS JOHN HOLLAND PROJECT

Truck Scales were recently commissioned for weighing trucks removing spoil from the Brisbane Tunnel Project.

Accuweigh’s QWM branch finalised the re-installation and certification of the truck scales that had been recently relocated from Sydney. As the drivers were paid on cartage rates based on the weight tickets, the truck scales were fully tested with test weights before being certified for trade use.

To eliminate the need for an on-site weighing operator, the truck scales were fitted with a Driver Control Station (DCS) to automatically log truck and driver details to the weighing ticket. The DCS was pole mounted to allow drivers to connect their Dallas keys without exiting their trucks which may have led to processing delays on the busy work site.

Concrete deck truck scales can be relocated using heavy capacity cranes to raise the heavy weighing deck on and off the truck and they may also require long/wide load permits during transportation. To minimise potential breakdowns, the truck scales were fitted with new load cells and a digital weight indicator rather than risk using second hand components on this important project that has a very tight time line for completion

Accuweigh is Australia’s largest industrial weighing company and has eight branches across all mainland states providing sales and service support on Truck Scales and Driver Control Stations.
