Accuweigh’s SA branch recently commissioned four sets of tank scales and weighing electronics at the Elizabeth branch SA of Iplex Pipelines. The tank scales are being used to weigh the volumes of plastic granules used in the manufacture of Ipex’s products to ensure production capacity isn’t compromised.
Load cells were already fitted to the storage tanks but the original weighing electronics of the tank scales were found to be far too awkward and complicated for the operators and maintenance staff to use successfully.
The tank scales are now fitted with Rinstrum R1203 digital weight indicators which are easy to use while also providing higher accuracy weight readings. The calibration of the tank scales is also much simpler for maintenance staff to follow.
