Two Skip Weighing Systems are being used to increase collections efficiency for Sell & Parker - a Sydney based scrap metal merchant.
Supplied by Accuweigh’s Lansvale branch in Sydney, the PM Onboard skip weighing systems are extremely durable and can’t be damaged by the knocks and bumps skip weighing systems are regularly subject to.
Sell & Parker’s decision to fit the skip weighing systems was based on the need to load trucks to the RTA’s maximum legal axle loading limit but at the same time to eliminate the risk of overloading their trucks which would compromise road safety and run the risk of expensive infringements. Sell & Parker run part of their fleet under the RTA mass management accreditation (NHVAS) which encourages heavy vehicle operators to take more responsibility for correctly loading their trucks to eliminate overloading.
Accuweigh’s skip weighing system ulitises six heavy capacity load cells safely mounted between the truck chassis and the loading tray which eliminates all potential damage caused by swinging hooks and chains used to lift the skip bins. The PM WasteWeigh skip weighing system achieves +/- 0.5% weighing accuracy and can identify individual axle group weights as well as providing net weight of the skip bins contents.
The PM Onboard skip weighing system helps businesses to manage day to day collection operations more efficiently as clear procedures can be established to ensure trucks are not accidentally overloaded. The Chain of Responsibility Legislation (CoR) can implicate everyone even remotely related to the truck’s operation even if they are not directly involved with the loading of a vehicle found to be exceeding its legal weight limits.
Accuweigh is Australia’s largest industrial weighing company and specialises in providing practical solutions to vehicle overloading.
