Accuweigh’s QWM branch recently supplied silo weighing systems for fitting to three large silos at Cement Australia’s Gladstone Plant. The silo weighing systems were supplied to suit silos with capacities of 700t, 250t and 150t and are being used to accurately track the volumes of cement stored in each silo.
The silo weighing systems comprise heavy capacity Schenck RTN load cells that were supplied due to their unique torsion ring design which is extremely resilient to weighing errors caused by side forces such as strong winds - making them ideal for silo weighing applications.
The Schenck load cells are fully stainless steel with IP68 hermetic sealing and are available in legal for trade models making them ideal for use in large silo weighing systems. Accuweigh R5000 digital weight indicators are included in the supply of the silo weighing systems to display the net weigh of cement in each silo.
