Salter Scales were recently serviced, tested and calibrated by Accuweigh’s QWM branch in Brisbane to ensure high weighing accuracy is maintained. The Salter Scales are being used for weighing LPG gas bottles before they are re-filled.
Salter’s heavy duty weigh beam scales comprise two individual weighing beams that can be positioned at varying widths apart to suit the size of the item being weighed. Unlike bench or platform scales with a fixed size weighing platform, Salter’s weigh beam scales can be positioned to weight smaller items like gas bottles or very large bulky items.
By increasing the spacing between the weigh beams, the stability of larger items can be increased to minimise the risk of the item accidentally toppling off the scales. Suited for all non trade weighing applications, Salter’s weigh beam scales are fitted with an industrial grade Avery E1005 digital weight indicator.
Regular scale servicing ensures high weighing accuracy can be maintained through-out the entire working life of the scales – not just when they are new. Even though most scales are now deemed electronic due to the use of load cells and digital weight indicators, mechanical principles still apply to the operation of all scales.
All scales are fitted with adjustable levelling feet to ensure the scale base is level and stable, but these can be easily damaged by excessive side forces such as when a heavy object is dragged across the weigh plate. Bent and damaged levelling feet can induce weighing errors into the scales and eventually lead to load cell failure if left un-maintained.
Accuweigh is Australia’s largest industrial weighing company and has fully trained and experienced service technicians across mainland Australia that are capable of servicing and maintaining all types of scales and weighing equipment to a very high standard to ensure high weighing accuracy.
