Portable Weighbridges were recently supplied and commissioned by Accuweigh’s QWM branch in Brisbane for a major asphalt supplier to ensure all loaded trucks leaving the plant conform to legal loading limits.
Three portable weighbridge decks were configured as a multi-deck weighbridge to allow the weights of individual axle groups to be readily identified as well as the vehicle GVM. Each weighbridge deck measures nine metres long by three metre wide for an overall twenty seven metre weighbridge length with an eighty tonne weighing capacity.
Accuweigh’s steel deck weighbridges are a very cost effective alternative to a concrete deck weighbridge due to the significantly reduced foundation requirements. Installation time is also reduced as the pre-fabricated weighbridge decks can usually be assembled in one working day using a small crane.
Each weighbridge deck is fitted with its own digital weight indicator communicating with a summing indicator to display the total weight reading of all weighbridge decks. Four external remote displays with 125mm Daybright LED digits are used to display the weight reading of each weighbridge and the total GVM to the truck drivers.
