Accuweigh recently installed a weighbridge into a pit for weighing recycled materials at Transpacific Industries’ Botany Bay plant. The weighbridge length needed to be kept as short as possible because of limited space available for truck access both on and off the weighbridge deck.
The weighbridge installation was a joint effort by both Accuweigh’s Sydney and Newcastle branches using a pit weighbridge design without any side kerbing to allow trucks to start turning immediately they were off the pit weighbridge’s deck.
The weighbridge was manufactured at a short eight metre length to suit the short wheelbase trucks in use at this depot. This fully galvanised weighbridge is a heavy duty design with a weighing capacity of 30t and is fully certified for trade use.
The weighbridge’s weighing hardware uses Flintec RC3 stainless steel weighbridge loadcells, a Rinstrum R5000 digital weight indicator connected to a Star ticket printer for tracking all in-coming and out-going materials over the weighbridge.
