Payload monitoring systems were fitted to four Hino series 300 trucks for the City of Darwin in the Northern Territory.
The payload monitoring systems were sold by Accuweigh’s Adelaide branch and commissioned by Accuweigh’s Melbourne branch at the premises of Prestige Hino in Dandenong Victoria.
The payload monitoring systems were fitted to the trucks to eliminate the risk of the trucks being inadvertently overloaded which could implicate the council through The Chain Of Responsibility Legislation. Fitting payload monitoring systems greatly reduces the risk of truck owners being deemed partly responsible in instances of truck overloading through this wide reaching legislation.
Accuweigh’s VanWeigh payload monitoring systems are specifically designed for 2 axle commercial vehicles and trucks up to approx 12 tonne capacity to provide a very cost axle overload protection system. The payload monitoring systems display the weight of both axles in kilograms and as a percentage (%) of overall truck weight to assist with correct load positioning.
Digital sensors are secured to both the front and rear suspension units to allow the payload monitoring systems to be constantly monitoring truck weights. As these payload monitoring systems have no moving parts, they are not susceptible to wear or changing calibration caused by stretched springs as occurs in other axle overload warning systems. Both visual and audible alarms are initiated when the truck weight limits are exceeded to warn the driver.
