A Fuji-Ace Palletizing System was recently installed to eliminate the need for manual labour to stack heavy bags of sodium bentonite for a Victorian based supplier.
Supplied by Accuweigh/Budpak, the Palletizing System is based on a Fuji-Ace EC-61 Robotic Palletizer which automatically stacks up to 300 bags per hour.
To comply with OH&S issues, Accuweigh/Budpak also supplied and installed additional light curtains and safety interlocks for the dual cell Palletizing System. The additional safety features were required to allow the fork lift operator to safely remove a loaded pallet from one side of the Palletizing System while the robot continues to stack a pallet on the alternate side.
For added protection against undue wear and tear, a dust cover was fitted to the Palletising System to prevent the fine clay powder from entering the robot’s mechanical components. The palletizer supply also included a Bag Pick-Up Conveyor and Pallet Location Guides. Safety Fencing prevents unauthorised entry to the palletizing cell while the robot is operating.
