Accuweigh’s SA branch recently updated existing mechanical monorail scales by fitting a load cell based design into the client’s existing support structure. The monorail scale conversion was completed in a single working day with minimal delays to the client’s meat deliveries.
Over head monorail scales (also known as track scales) are normally used by supermarkets and butcher shops for check weighing deliveries of sides of meat to ensure the correct weight of product is received into the store.
In this large supermarket’s application, the mechanical monorail scale was no longer accurate or reliable so Accuweigh offered the latest in technology and supplied an electronic conversion system that did not require any expensive modifications to the existing monorail system.
The old lever system and mechanical dial was removed and the new monorail scale was fitted into the existing gap in the meat rails. A stainless steel digital display was also supplied and installed onto the adjacent wall and linked to a computer to record all weighings on the over head monorail scales.
The client was very impressed with Accuweigh’s ability to complete the monorail conversion within the available time frame so as not to cause any disruptions to the clients normal business.
