A contracted freight provider recently installed a mobile weighbridge at the entrance to a chemical plant in Geelong.
The mobile weighbridge was required due to the lack of a suitable local weighbridge for recording all freight movements in and out of the plant.
Supplied by Accuweigh’s Melbourne branch, the low profile mobile weighbridge will be far easier to relocate to another site if the freight contract is not renewed at the end of its term. Measuring 30 metres long, the steel deck mobile weighbridge is capable of weighing B-Doubles and small road trains in a single weighing transaction.
Having the mobile weighbridge located on-site eliminates time delays for trucks travelling to and from the nearest public weighbridges and also saved the added expense of weighing fees. To eliminate the need for a weighbridge operator, the mobile weighbridge is fitted with a Driver Control Station (DCS) utilising a colour touch screen, weighbridge software and a printer to provide hardcopies of all weighing transactions.
Accuweigh can supply and install mobile weighbridges with full trade approvals anywhere in Australia. These mobile weighbridges are constructed using self–contained five metre sections which are fully galvanised for strong corrosion protection.
For optimum strength and rigidity, the cross members connecting the weighbridge decks also contain the load cells making them a load bearing point which overcomes flexing of the weighbridge deck under load. Accuweigh’s mobile weighbridges are easily extended by adding weighbridge deck sections to achieve the required weighbridge length.
Installations costs of this type of portable weighbridge are very cost effective due to the relatively low mass of the weighbridge requiring minimal foundations. Accuweigh is Australia’s largest industrial weighing company with branches in all mainland states and has installed more weighbridges across Australia than any other weighbridge company.
