Accuweigh’s Adelaide branch recently supplied load cells to Axxton Pavers in Greenfields, South Australia to replace an existing hydraulic weighing system that was no longer accurate enough for Axxton’s quality processes.
The load cells were fitted to a mobile weigh hopper which is mounted on rails and then positioned sequentially under the various materials feed bins to receive the various materials required for each batch.
A Rinstrum R310 indicator was used to power the load cells and to display the stable and accurate weight readings to the operator. The indicator was fitted with a battery powered option to eliminate the need for power cables to be run the entire length of the rails supporting the mobile weight hopper.
Four Gedge GK2106 load cells of 1000kg capacity provide a substantial overload capacity and extra durability to cope with the knocks and bumps this mobile weigh hopper can receive in this industrial weighing application.
