INLINE CHECKWEIGHER SYNCHRONISED WITH ROBOT PALLETISER

An inline checkweigher is relaying bag weights directly to a robot palletiser which determines the bags handling based on its acquired weight reading.

Bags deemed as conforming to predetermined weight tolerances by the inline checkweigher are palletised while those outside tolerance are placed on a rejects pallet for reworking.

Accuweigh’s Brisbane South branch commissioned and certified the inline checkweigher at Unimin’s plant at Tamaree, near Gympie in Queensland. The load cells and digital weight indicator fitted to the checkweigher are all trade approved to eliminate the need for further weight checking of random samples on an external scale.

The inline checkweigher and robot palletiser are handling 20kg bags of lime which are filled by a valve bag packer before being conveyed to the checkweighing scales. Once a bag arrives at the end of the conveyor, a frame rises from between the metal rollers to lift the bag onto the load cells to enable the checkweigher to acquire the bag’s weight, quickly and accurately.

Accuweigh is Australia’s largest weigh/packaging group with eight branches across all mainland states.
