Accuweigh’s QWM branch installed industrial scales for weighing the sludge by-product generated at Brisbane’s Luggage Point Waste Treatment Plant. Both industrial scales have a weighing capacity of 200 tonnes each and are fitted with SMS modules to significantly increase collections efficiency.
The contractor responsible for removing the sludge from site simply rings a nominated phone number to receive a SMS message detailing the weight of sludge currently stored in each of the industrial scales. This allows the contractor to arrange for the sludge to be emptied out of the industrial scales in the most cost-effective manner.
Both industrial scales are very large measuring over 8 metres in height and fitted with eight heavy duty load cells that are fully manufactured in stainless steel with an IP68 rating. Accuweigh 5000 digital weight indicators generate the weight readings of the industrial scales which are transmitted to the site’s SCADA system using a 4-20mA analogue output module.
