Accuweigh’s Perth branch is currently commissioning large heavy industrial scales for Sunset Coast Water Alliance’s Mandurah-Kwinana treatment plant.
The heavy industrial scales are used to monitor the volume of sludge produced during the treatment process and to also ensure trucks do not exceed legal weight limits while transporting the sludge.
The heavy industrial scales include 6 x 50T load cells fitted to a hopper which is elevated 6 metres to allow trucks to drive underneath the heavy industrial scales to fill up with the waste by-product. An Accuweigh R5000 digital weight indicator is used to display the weight of sludge in the industrial scales.
A PLC is connected to the digital weight indicator using a 4-20mA current loop output and regulates the opening and closing of the large gates fitted underneath the heavy industrial scales which discharges directly into trucks below.
