Accuweigh’s QWM branch fitted heavy capacity load cells to a large industrial hopper at the Murrumba Downs Waste Water Treatment Plant in Brisbane’s north. The heavy capacity load cells enable a large industrial hopper to weigh the sludge by-product collected from the water treatment process.
Six AccuCell heavy capacity load cells with a weighing capacity of 30 tonnes each was fitted to the hopper which holds 120 cubic metres of sludge. Each of the heavy capacity load cells was supplied with a mounting kit which provides both overload and overlift restraints to securely locate the weigh hopper.
An Accuweigh R5000 digital weight indicator displays the weight readings of the heavy capacity load cells and also relays the weight data via an analogue 4-20mA signal to a host Scada system. The Scada system monitors the weight readings from the load cells and provides automatic control of the product flow in and out of the weight hopper.
Accuweigh’s heavy capacity load cells are rated as IP68 for full waterproof operation and are manufactured in full stainless steel for strong corrosion resistance. The digital weight indicator is fitted inside a stainless steel control box that is mounted externally on the weigh hopper to allow manually controlled unloading if required.
