Accuweigh recently installed a custom weighbridge for weighing recycled materials at TPI’s Botany Bay plant. The weighbridge length needed to be kept as short as possible because of limited space available for both the weighbridge and for truck turning access both on and off the weighbridge deck.
The weighbridge installation was a joint effort by both Accuweigh’s Sydney and Newcastle branches using an in-ground weighbridge design without any side kerbing to allow trucks to turn off the weighbridge as soon as they were weighed.
The weighbridge length of only eight metres also suited the short wheelbase trucks in use at this plant. This fully galvanised weighbridge is a heavy duty design with a weighing capacity of 30t and is fully certified for trade use.
The weighbridge’s weighing hardware uses Flintec RC3 stainless steel weighbridge loadcells, a Rinstrum R5000 digital weight indicator connected to a Star ticket printer for tracking all in-coming and out-going materials.
