Eight beltweighers were recently commissioned for a limestone mining company in New South Wales.
Four of the beltweighers were installed on new conveyor lines with the other four units replacing existing beltweighers that were nearing the end of their working life.
Supplied by Accuweigh’s Newcastle branch, the beltweighers were installed for increased product traceability before the raw materials are blended. As the beltweighers were not for trade weighing applications, Accuweigh supplied a single idler beltweigher design that is well known for its simplicity and durability.
The fully floating beltweigher is supported via stainless steel double ended shear beam load cells that require no routine adjustment, eliminating the use of lever arms or pivots, therefore the load cell(s) measure the true mass on the belt which reduces errors and makes calibration simpler. The MBSX beltweigher also features temperature compensated 6 wire stainless steel load cell(s) with overload protection mounted under the weigh frame protected from harsh environments.
For increased weighing accuracy, the beltweighers are fitted with a tacho to continually monitor the conveyor belt speeds to negate weighing errors caused by belt speed variances caused by cold temperatures or varying belt loadings. The weight readings are generated by a GT500E 24-bit weigh controller with a 6 wire load cell circuit.
Accuweigh is Australia’s largest industrial weighing company and has extensive experience in the supply and servicing of beltweighers. With eight branches across all mainland states, Accuweigh is the ideal partner for all beltweigher applications and covering all industries.
