ACCUWASH TRUCK WHEEL WASHING SYSTEM FOR QLD’S LNG PIPELINE

Truck Wheel Wash System
Truck Wheel Wash System

A Truck Wheel Washing System is currently being commissioned for the Curtis Island LNG Project at Gladstone. Supplied by Accuweigh’s QWM branch in Brisbane, the Wheel Wash System was required to prevent weed and seed contamination from vehicles working on the 540 kilometre underground gas pipeline.

All vehicles returning from the route are required to pass through Accuweigh’s Truck Wheel Washing System to prevent weeds and seeds attached to the vehicles from being transferred elsewhere. The AccuWash Wheel Wash System thoroughly cleans the wheels, tyres and underbodies of vehicles to remove all soil, mud, seeds, weeds and other organic materials.

As the LNG Project is only expected to last for two and a half years, the Truck Wheel Washing System was designed and installed in a manner so as to enable it to be easily relocated to another site at the end of the project. The AccuWash Wheel Wash Systems are self-cleaning and automatically remove collected solids from the holding tank by use of a sludge scraper conveyor operating during every wheel wash cycle with the collected solids deposited into an external holding bin for easy removal.

To further improve water quality, a Hydrocyclone centrifugal separator removes sand, soil, grit and other suspended particles in the water for significantly improved washing performance over non filtered water. The Hydrocyclone uses no moving parts or screens and is powered directly by the wheel wash spray pump with clean water discharged at normal system pressure through the wheel wash sprays.

Accuweigh has a full range of truck wheel and tyre washing systems and also manufactures custom wheel washing solutions to suit client needs. Eight Accuweigh branches across mainland states provide Superior Product Support on all AccuWash Truck Wheel Washing Systems.
