WEIGHBRIDGES - SEMI-PIT
Weighbridges - Semi-Pit

Semi-pit weighbridges require the site to be excavated and a weighbridge pit to be constructed in the excavation. This enables the weighbridge deck's weighing surface to be the same level as the surrounding ground level.

Due to the excavation work required for preparation for construction, and additional concrete materials and work required for construction, semi-pit weighbridges are more expensive than above-ground weighbridges, but claim less site area by eliminating or minimising the need for ramps.

Semi-pit weighbridges usually have a 1m clear-space down both sides of the weighbridge deck. This is to comply with legislative requirements for weighbridges, allowing service personnel to access the loadcells.

Alternative semi-pit designs can reduce or eliminate one or both clear-spaces. However, exemption from legislation must be sort in writing from the local Trade Measurement Authority before construction begins.

Accuweigh can also supply the complete range of weighbridge hardware and weighbridge software solutions for any site. Hardware option includes boom gates, electronic identification systems, traffic control lights, driver control stations, personal computers, printers, radio modems, remote displays, and more.
