The achieved weighing accuracy of axle weighbridges and truck axle scales is very dependant on the accuracy of the concrete approaches. Axle weighbridge decks are typically 4m long by 3m wide, and are installed in a pit. The decks tend to be low profile (lower than a full-length weighbridge) and therefore do not require as deep a pit as a full-length weighbridge.
A purpose-built remote display and software for axle weighbridges can accumulate the individual axle groups to display a total, which can be sent to a PC or other site equipment.
In order to achieve maximum accuracy with axle weights, the quality of the entry and exit approaches must be considerably high (level to with ±3mm) for the entire length of the vehicle being weighed. The additional concrete and materials required to construct the precision approaches can make axle weighbridges a less attractive option compared to a full-length weighbridge.
Accuweigh can also supply the complete range of weighbridge hardware and weighbridge software solutions for any site.
