Wheelchair Scales were supplied to the Mackay District Spinal Injuries Association by Accuweigh’s QWM branch.
The Wheelchair Scales are floor mounted and used for weighing mobility impaired patients seated in wheelchairs.
The Wheelchair Scales are of a platform scale design and constructed in aluminium with a very low height profile and fitted with a ramp for ease of wheelchair access. These Wheelchair Scales can be easily lifted for storing vertically when not in use. Accuweigh’s Wheelchair Scales have a maximum weighing capacity of 300kg.
Rather than manually transferring patients into a wheelchair fitted with weighing equipment, staff simply weigh the patient seated in their own wheelchair onto the platform scales for weighing. The known weight of the wheelchair is digitally subtracted by the weight reading to enable the scales to show patient weight only.
