The need to ensure trucks leaving the Kwinana Bulk Jetty are complying with legal weight limits will be solved with an Accuweigh multi-deck weighbridge verifying all axle group loadings and total vehicle mass are within legal weight limits.
The proposal by Jeremy Hembrough (Accuweigh's Perth Technical Sales Representative) to use a 20 metre long x 3.5 metre wide, in-ground triple-deck weighbridge won the day and an order was recently placed on Accuweigh by Freemantle Ports after the tendering process was completed.
The weighbridge will also be fitted with traffic lights to control truck movements and the three large digit remote displays will display axle weight data to the drivers. The weight data will then also be transmitted to a PC based software system.
