Weighbridge Refurbishment
Accuweigh’s Perth branch recently refurbished an aging Avery weighbridge belonging to Midland Bricks which has been acknowledged by the Guinness Book of Records as being the largest brick works in the world.
The 30 year old Avery lever weighbridge was suffering from concrete cancer of the lever support piers as well as rusting of the weighbridge’s structural beams. The metal plates of the weighbridge deck were lifted to allow the structural beams and the mechanical lever system to be removed.
New concrete piers were positioned allowing eight Flintec weighbridge loadcells to replace the mechanical lever system. The structural weighbridge beams were then sandblasted and painted and new bumper assemblies were fitted to the pit walls to restrain the lateral and side movements of the weighbridge.
After testing, calibrating and re-certification by Accuweigh’s WA weighbridge crew, the 20 metre weighbridge was returned to active service. Accuweigh is Australia’s largest industrial weighing company with branches in all mainland states which allows national companies like Boral to be able to deal with one company for all their weighing needs - anywhere is Australia.
