The weighbridge will be used to ensure all outgoing trucks conform to legal weight limits, as well as monitoring the mass/volumes of all explosives and fuel deliveries made to the minesite for increased tracking and accountabilty of these dangerous goods.
The Quad Split weighbridge will comprise 4 individual weighbridge decks in a shallow pit so the weighbridge deck is flush with the concrete hardstand to also allow for wide vehicle access to the site without causing damage to the weighbridge.
Each weighbridge deck will be mounted on four heavy duty stainless steel weightbridge loadcells and fitted with a separate Rinstrum R5000 digital weight indicator so weight readings from each axle group are clearly identified during a single weighbridge transaction. This is done to ensure all axle groups are legal prior to the truck leaving site in an effort to eliminate RTA overload breaches for axle weight violations which nowadays are more common than total load violations.
Externally mounted, Rinstrum D740 large digit remote displays will be fitted at each end of the weighbridge to display total truck weights to the drivers.
Cadia Valley Operations is the largest gold and copper producer in New South Wales and one of Australia's largest gold producers. The operations comprise a large low grade Cadia Hill open pit mine and the higher grade Ridgeway underground mine. The two concentrators are located adjacent to each other and share a number of infrastructure facilities and services. This enables the two concentrators to be efficiently operated as a single complex.
