An AccuWash Truck Wheel Washing System was recently commissioned for a demolition materials recycler in Dandenong, Victoria. Supplied by Accuweigh’s Springvale branch in Melbourne, the Wheel Wash System removes soil and from truck wheels and underbody to prevent track-out onto public roads.
To ensure
heavy soils and clay are also removed, shaker bar grids were positioned before
and after the Truck Wheel Wash to distort the tyre treads to assist with
dislodging foreign matter. The shaker bars are fully galvanised to resist
corrosion and mounted on concrete slabs within the wash zone to assist draining
of excess water back into the wheel wash’s water holding tank for recycling.
A powered scraper conveyor
continuously removes sludge, stones, rubble and other organic
materials from the bottom of the water holding tank during every Wheel Wash operation.
An external collections bin was also supplied to
allow collected sludge to be easily removed externally without affecting the operation
of the Truck Wheel Wash.
To further clean the water to a very high
standard, the AccuWash Truck Wheel Wash is fitted with a centrifugal separator which removes sand,
soil, grit and other solids before the water is sent to the spray heads. This eliminates
potential damage to truck paintwork and the truck’s underbody components caused
by high pressure spraying with water containing suspended particles of foreign
matter.
Accuweigh has a full range of truck wheel and tyre washing
systems available and can also manufacture custom washing solutions to suit
specific client wheel wash applications. Full after sales service support is
available from eight branches across all mainland Australian states.
