Shipping Container Scales
Accuweigh’s QWM branch recently supplied a set of shipping container scales to Australian Char’s production plant in the Latrobe Valley for loading shipping containers with carbonised brown coal.
This industrial weighing application has an empty shipping container placed on the container scales which is then loaded with carbonised brown coal via a portable conveyor belt feeding through the door opening until the required net weight is achieved.
The shipping container scales saves the client considerable time and effort by eliminating the need to transport the filled shipping container to a weighbridge to check the net weight of the contents before the container is despatched to the freight provider.
The Accuweigh/QWM shipping container scales are exceptionally strong due to the heavy duty construction and are fully galvanised for corrosion protection. Using four heavy duty Flinted load cells of 30t capacity each, the shipping container scales have a weighing capacity of 30.00t in divisions of 0.01t.
Australian Char is Australia’s market leader in the manufacture of premium quality carbonised brown coal containing high levels of fixed carbon and extremely low levels of impurities and is widely used in many essential services:
• Steel manufacture
• Ferro alloy production
• Activated carbon as a filter medium
Accuweigh is Australia’s largest industrial weighing company and has branches in all mainland states providing Australia wide coverage for national clients.
