A Portable weighbridge was recently commissioned in Western Australia for weighing trucks delivering paper to a recycling centre.
Supplied by Accuweigh’s Perth branch, a portable weighbridge was the client's preferred weighbridge type due to the potential for the business to be relocated in the near future. The eighteen metre long weighbridge deck comprises three individual deck sections rigidly attached to each other at the load bearing points - where the weighbridge load cells are positioned. This innovative design significantly increases the structural integrity of the weighbridge deck and minimises potentially damaging flexing under heavy loads – the primary cause of metal fatigue in portable weighbridges.
This portable weighbridge is being used for weighing trucks bringing paper to the collection centre and then for weighing out-going semi-trailers carrying shipping containers of bundled paper. An Accuweigh 5000 digital weight indicator is used to generate weight readings from the six heavy duty weighbridge load cells.
