Platform scales were recently supplied to Robs Red Gum Supplies near Clyde in Victoria’s Yarra Ranges shire.
The platform scale was required for pre-weighing fire-wood for client orders prior to delivery.
As the fire-wood is being sold by weight, the platform scales needed to be Trade Approved to meet local Weights & Measures Regulations. Accuweigh’s Melbourne branch supplied a platform scale with a 1500kg capacity displayed in weighing increments of 0.5kg by an AND 4406 digital weight indicator.
A special tapered bin is placed onto the platform scales and the digital weight indicator is tared to return the scale display to a zero reading. Wood is then loaded into the bin until the required weight is indicated in the scale display. A fork lift is used to lift the loaded bin off the platform scales and place it onto a trailer for delivery to the client.
