Metal Detection System With Checkweigher For Seafood Processor

Combination Unit

A combination metal detection and checkweighing machine has been ordered by Port Lincoln Tuna Processors for a new seafood pouching line currently under construction at their Port Lincoln plant. The metal detection component will comprise the latest variable frequency metal detection scanning heads to ensure rapid metal detection results are achieved with very high accuracy.

As space for installing the checkweigher / metal detection machine is very limited, Accuweigh’s Ian Cunningham offered the client Prisma’s latest compact combination unit that has an overall total length of just 1400mm.

This is the third Prisma unit ordered by Port Lincoln Tuna Processors and will be used for checkweighing and metal detection scanning of two different size pouches containing sauces; 170L x 130W x 80H weighing 250g and 300L x 230W x 80H weighing 1000g.

Prisma’s high quality checkweighers and metal detection equipment are all manufactured in Prisma’s own factory in Italy and the ever increasing strength of the current Australian dollar ensures this quality European brand of food inspection equipment is now available at very reasonable pricing.

Port Lincoln Tuna Processors is situated on the pristine waters of Port Lincoln on the Eyre Peninsula, South Australia and is owned by local fishermen who have over 45 years experience in the fishing industry. The company has been operating since 1972 providing quality fresh, frozen and canned tuna and salmon, Sashimi processing and various pouch products.

Accuweigh is Australia's largest weighing and packaging company with branches in all mainland states.
