A mechanical weighbridge was recently fitted with electronic weighing components to replace the original optical/mechanical weight display that was still in use. The ageing lever-based weighbridge was retro-fitted with a load cell and digital weight indicator by Accuweigh’s Melbourne branch and then certified for trade use.
The weighbridge retains the mechanical lever system under the weighing deck but has a load cell connected to the transfer lever to generate the weight signals. An Accuweigh IT3000 digital weight indicator converts the load cell output into digital weight readings which are also transmitted to a printer for generating hardcopies of all weighing transactions.
The weighbridge is being used to weigh incoming company trucks carrying loaded recycling bins to allow the company to determine the weight of material in the bins. Accuweigh has extensive experience with weighbridge upgrades including adding deck extensions to existing weighbridges to allow longer trucks to be weighed in a single weighing transaction and eliminating the need for split weighing.
Accuweigh is Australia’s largest industrial weighing company and has eight branches across mainland states specialising in weighbridge repairs, servicing and certifications.
