Five sets of Intrinsically Safe Weight Indicators were recently supplied to a Victorian manufacturer of paints and coatings. Supplied by Accuweigh’s Springvale North branch, the Intrinsically Safe Weight Indicators were for retrofitting to the clients existing scale bases for mixing flammable products in an area rated as Zone 1 Class 1.
Intrinsically Safe Weight
Indicators are designed specifically for use in Hazardous Areas where highly
flammable or explosive products are handled and are designed to totally
eliminate the potential for a spark to be generated by internal component
failure. In previous years, standard weight indicators were fitted into explosion
proof housings to achieve the same level of protection, but these were very
expensive in comparison.
