Platform Scales
Accuweigh’s Newcastle branch recently supplied heavy duty pallet scales to CMA Recycling’s depot in the Cardiff/Newcastle area. The pallet scales will be used for portable weighing operations requiring the pallet scales to be taken to client’s sites.
The skip bins containing scrap metals will be individually weighed on the heavy duty pallet scales before the bins are emptied into the collections truck. The pallet scales are then loaded back into the truck and taken to the next collection site. The load cells used in these pallet scales had their capacity increased from 1t to 2t for increased resilience to the knocks and bumps to the pallet scales as expected in this type of mobile operation.
Each skip bin is marked with its tare weight which is entered into the digital indicator prior to the skip being placed on to the pallet scales to ensure only the contents of the skip is weighed. The Avery digital weight indicator connected to the pallet scales is fitted with internal batteries to alleviate the need for mains power during the weighing operations.
